Q: I often see new BIOS versions for my computer on the site. How often do I need to flash my BIOS? Will I see a performance boost?

A: There are two reasons to flash your BIOS:

  • When adding hardware that needs a newer BIOS version.
  • If you are having issues with the computer that an update to the BIOS will fix.

Normally, updating the BIOS won't speed up the computer. If you aren't having any issues, then we don't suggest updating the BIOS.
