Q: I'm looking at my Vivitron monitor and I see two gray lines across my screen. One is located about one-fourth of the way from the top and the other is about one-fourth of the way up from the bottom. Is there any way to get rid of these?

A: You are seeing what are called damper wires. These wires are most noticeable when you are on a light colored background. They are a physical part of the monitor and help keep the display from shaking. There is no way to get them to get rid of them.
