Installing PCI Card drivers

If your docking station contains a PCI card that was installed by Gateway, your notebook must have the proper drivers installed for the PCI Card to work properly.

To install the drivers for the docking station's PCI Card:

    1. Connect the notebook to the docking station, and if your notebook is not already turned on, turn on your notebook. The New Hardware Found wizard starts.

    2. Place Disc 1 of the System Restoration Kit into your CD/DVD drive. The System Restoration Kit program starts.

    3. Click OK to close the message window, then click Exit to close the System Restoration Kit program.

    4. In the New Hardware Found window, click Next.

    5. Click Browse, then select the folder on the System Restoration Kit CD for the appropriate card. The folder you select should be a subfolder of the \Desktop\Net\ folder, and its name should be similar to the type of card installed in your docking station. For example, the folder for an IBM Token Ring adapter could be found in D:\Desktop\Net\IBMTKN\.

    6. Click Next, then follow any additional on-screen instructions.
Depending on the driver you are reinstalling, you may only need to restart your computer to complete the installation. However, if a setup wizard opens when you restart your computer, follow the on-screen instructions.
