Hewlett-Packard Printer Power Cord Issue

Hewlett-Packard is voluntarily recalling Longwell power cords that shipped with certain HP printers. Gateway sold HP printers that could potentially have the Longwell power cord are listed below including the Gateway part number.

Possible Affected HP Printers sold by Gateway:
HP Deskjet 842 (7002283)
HP Deskjet 895 (7001233)
HP Deskjet 932 (7002270, 7003546)
HP Deskjet 952 (7002271, 7003547)
HP Deskjet 970 (7002029)
HP Photosmart P1000 (7002030, 7003549)

The affected products were shipped from HP from April 2001 through January 2002. These dates may not match the date you received your printer.

You can check to see whether you are suspect for this issue by checking to see if your power cable is gray in color and has the word Longwell between or below the prongs as shown in the picture:
