Anypoint Home Networking™

AnyPoint" Home Network is a local area network (LAN) product that provides a connection between two or more computers in a home environment. There are two versions of hardware, an external parallel port adapter and an internal PCI adapter. Both of these products use the existing telephone wiring in the homes as the transport. No new wires are required to interconnect the home computers. The AnyPoint" Home Network also has integrated software for installation. The AnyPoint" Home Network software enables users to share drivers, printers, and an Internet connection. The software provides the user with a simple interface to manage the tasks of sharing and mapping drivers and printers on a small network. The Internet sharing software (ISS) handles the sharing of Internet connections.

Home networking allows clients to easily connect multiple computers using existing telephone wiring. After a connection is established, the networked computers share resources such as Internet access, printers, and files, and allow clients to play multi-player games. Clients can purchase a Gateway Performance, Gateway Essential, or Gateway Select desktop equipped with an AnyPoint" PCI card that is ready to be networked immediately out of the box.
