A Gateway Solo 2300, 5100, or 9100 portable computer stops responding while using the Solo 2100 or 2200 A/C adapter

ISSUE: A Solo 2300, 9100, or 5100 computer may stop responding or experience other difficulties while the Solo 2100 or 2200 A/C adapter, part number PWCADP015AAWW, is attached. Although the computer may appear to function correctly under normal use, it may intermittently stop responding when higher levels of voltage are required from the A/C adapter. The two A/C adapters do not share the same specifications and provide differing levels of power output. The A/C adapter may be identified by the following physical characteristics:

• The Solo 2100 or 2200 adapter, part number PWCADP015AAWW, does not have a green LED indicator.

• The Solo 2300, 9100, or 5100 adapter, part number PWCADP017AAWW, does have a green LED indicator.

RESOLUTION: Do not use the Solo 2100 or 2200 A/C adapter, part number PWDCADP015AAWW, with the Solo 2300, 5100, or 9100 portable computers. Solo 2300 and 9100 portable computers should use A/C adapter part number PWCADP017AAWW only. A/C adapter part number PWCADP017AAWW is backward compatible for use with the Solo 2100 and 2200 portable computers.
